Upcoming Shows Song List Contact the Band Listen to the Band Funny Page
OUTA SYNC formed in 1999 with the express thought that the world would end with Y2K. When that came and went they decided to stick together anyway! The band came together because Gene owned a restaurant, and it turned out he was a better guitar player than a restaurateur (which isn’t saying much). They entertained at this restaurant (which will remain nameless to protect the innocent) welcoming local musicians to the stage and were famous for their 4 hour non-stop shows. Once the IRS decided to end Gene’s pain, the guys took the show on the road.
Here we are years later and we are just now taking this crap seriously. Here is a list of the places that OUTA SYNC has performed at and also has outstanding bar tabs with: J. Lindsay’s, Gordy’s, Lucky’s, Kyber Run, Bottom’s Up, Mannequin’s, Barley’s, Largo’s, Kristofer’s (see above nameless place), Clancy’s, Lazy Chameleon, J.R. Buzzards, Hyatt on Capital Square, Eldorado’s, LaScala (played the jazz versions those nights), plus countless other bars that are no longer in business (we probably contributed to their demise). OUTA SYNC has also performed several pre-game tailgate parties for the OSU Alumni Association and jammed on the Crew Kicker stage a couple of times before Columbus Crew games. We also have played at numerous weddings and private parties. We love these gigs because it usually means free food and alcohol.
Attending an OUTA SYNC gig is quite like nothing you have experienced before (hopefully)! It's about more than the music (thankfully). We provide all other types of entertainment. The front line of the band is all wireless and we like mingling with anybody and everybody, so watch your drinks and don’t leave any money laying on your table! We love to tell jokes (clean ones only), we hold TV and movie trivia for prizes, Gene’s latest top 10, we take requests (hand written on twenty dollar bills only), we also play a few parody songs. In a sense every cover tune we play can be classified as a parody song. In all, every gig is quite unique and never the same.
